First things first: It's been way too long Mr. Blog...

Where do I begin?

This is week 2 of the second Machinima course, otherwise known as week 5. EST my last post I have done the following in chronological order.

Finished one segment of Machinima teachings with a positive film-to-student ratio. I made my farewells to many of them, and shed silent tears. I was also voted staff of the week, I was so blown away that I took a camper T-shirt in the chaos. Soon thereafter I found my way to Hoboken with 2 other staffers in hopes of a fun night out at the improv show. Naturally the show was for the weekend after, so we hit the town in traditional tourist fashion and made a beeline to Times Square where I obtained a tasty bottle of OJ for 5 bucks, I complained about the price. We then proceeded to lounge on the steps of a random building looking at the light soaked sky, and generally inhaling the hustle and bustle of the unfamiliar city around us.

The next night off was the guysí only emergency staff meeting with Mike and his lemon-flavored aide. Things were said, and Iíll remember them always, pending we donít have another meeting of that nature.

Sunday started off without a hitch and I got the new bunch in, things went crazy again and the whole week was a blur after the relaxing weekend. Ben Grussi came by for the day Wednesday, and like the last time we met, it was a blast talking about Machinima and the art form it has and will become. The next day I get sick as a dog, and completely loose my voice, and I am pissed. So pissed was I, that I sustained substantial bruising to my limbs playing the roughest game of dodge ball ever. It still hurts. Friday is of course, as everyone in the world knows (but Paul), Paul Marinoís surprise party. I was way late due to a lovely Italian diner/staff meeting over in little Italy, but I made it in time to have a few drinks and give my best. Of course I can barely talk due to my massive cold, so my reunion with the ILL Clan was reduced to nods and the like. I also met Nathan (MuNansen, he did the awesome BF1942 flick Ours Again) and his wife (who happened to be from Texas and was also missing the Mexican food.) Ben and I left around 12:30 and after a series of subways, trains, and car rides, we finally stumble into Summer Tech turf around 5am. So we spent all last Saturday hanging out again and enjoying the nicest weather of any summer day of all time. At this point I picked up a Harry Potter book (#5) to fill in the gap Wheel of Time left. Sunday and Monday went smooth as usual, and my voice came back fully, just in time for today.

First Contact. Things were off to a rocky start, as Lee and I made our first pass across the cafť she took off for the food line, so we made for the soda machine as cover. The 2nd pass was much delayed and not much smoother. The second we scoot chairs over and sit down, she takes off as though we scared her off, but as it turns out, she was just making room and invited us to sit. *whew* Soon her friends arrive, and we begin formal introductions, and it seems they mostly understood us, and I discovered the important facts straight away. Name: Midori, Age: 19. Itís a bit late in the summer for these things, but a pen pal in Japan would rock.

So here's to, um, uh... Pen Pals! *drinks*
